"Creating Keepsakes is looking for the year’s most talented scrapbooker. You could win $10,000 as well as a prize package that is too good to believe. Imagine yourself in a new scrap space, with every product or tool you need at your fingertips. It could be you!
To enter, submit a portfolio of your 20 best scrapbook layouts. 12 of these layouts must be non-published and cannot have been posted in any online forum."
Did you see that there? In the top line? It says $10,000!!!!!!!!
Ten thousand smackaroonies!!
Ten thousand USA smackaroonies!!! "As well as a prize package that is too good to believe" I don't know about you, but I found $10,000 too good to believe on its own!
Ah, it makes the Aussie scrap scene blanch into insignificance. $20 for a layout just doesn't really stand alongside that kind of money, does it.
Of course, when you look at the competition rules, Aussies are not eligible to enter. Or NZers. Interestingly, this time people from the UK can enter. Strange. Why not us then?

On the home front, this morning we were at a seminar on suncare for babies. And there was a four week old baby there, crying. I was shocked. I had forgotten how newborns mewl. And I was sad. When did my baby stop being a newborn? When did he stop mewling?
Was it when he moved from newborn to infant nappies? Was it when he started sleeping through the night? Was it when he smiled his first smile? Giggled his first giggle? Picked up his first toy? Or was it when he....
....cut his first teeth!!!!!!!
Yes, that's right. You read right. Jamie has teeth! At the young age of four and a half months, the little fella has gone all out and cut his two bottom teeth. Imagine my shock. I was expecting this momentous occasion to take place in a couple of months' time. And to be accompanied by much crying and possibly sleepless nights. Instead, the little pearly whites just appeared. One day he had gums. The next day he had hard little white things where the gums used to be.

Awww how cute! And so young to cut his first teeth! My kids were all gums until they were 8 months old :o)
Oh my Kathie!!!!!!!! How exciting! I can't recall [already] when Georgia got her two but it wasn't that long ago. She's still only got those two but I think there's another 4 about to pop soon. I can't wait to photograph these two together. See you soon xo
Yippee for Jamie - what a big boy with his teeth!!! I was sad at turning Isaacs car seat around to face forward yesterday, cause it was yet another sign of my tiny newborns dissapearance, I cant imagine how I will react to first teeth LOL

Always loved babies, but they do grow up so fast, your right! He is a real cutie too!
$10 000 for a comp but not us Aussies? What were they thinking?
Ruthy
Yay for Jamies teeth!!! Shayla got her first tooth around 4 months and she was also one of the first kids in her preschool to lose a tooth.
What a fabulous comp that is, if only we could enter, or better still, if only we had something similar in Aust!
Congratulations on Jamies teeth....Not so much for the fact that he actually has the teeth, but for the fact that hopefully it means that you have missed out on the months of grizzlyness, horrible nappies, not eating properly and no longer sleeping through and struggling with sleep in general! I hope this is true for you. Both of my little beans had a very hard time with teeth. Mazzie still has four to go. YAY! It does make you feel like your lttle one is moving into the 'next stage' I found that exciting with Denver. I was so excited to meet the little person he was to become, and was looking forward to every new stage. I am missing it all with Mazz though! Wish she would just slow down and be a baby!!
Sorry pushed the wrong button, that was just me!
I hear ya! Both my boys cut their first two at 16 weeks - although I didn't even think until I read Chris' post that Liam might loose his baby teeth soon! That's a horrible thought, I'm not ready for that yet LOL.
It's bitter sweet when they grow isn't it, on one hand you miss that newborn stuff, and know you'll never get it back, but on the other they become so entertaining! Just wait till he can say "I love you mummy!"
I can't believe that your little guy has teeth already!!! OMGosh he is growing up way toooooo fast

If it makes you feel any better Kathie, my little E cut teeth at 3 months and he was born 3 weeks early as well! And he knew how to bite!!! SHUDDERING at the memory of that! LOL! Enjoy all the moments because he will be running around before you know it!
Kathie......woohoo teeth already!
None of my 4 boys had any teeth until they were about 6 months old.
$10,000.....mmmmmm what would you do with it? Sure would but a lot of scrapping products!

Teeth already, wow, he's growing up so fast. I think Alex was about 5 months and Daniel didn't get his first until 9 months, but he's cut 5 close together with 4 more coming through - he's miserable...
As for that comp - ten grand! Holy Cow!! Be had work though, 20 unpublished pages!!
Wow - that IS a competition that's really something! Unfortunately, Swedes are not allowed either... Let's feel wrongfully accused together! *nods*
And... Even if he's no infant - your baby IS the cutest child I have ever seen. Seriously.
OMG...teeth already!!!!
And OMG..$10,000, holy moly...why can't we enter, boo hoo.
