And more LOs

I was totally rapt a while back to be invited to contribute to Kate Mason and Debra Fuller's book, Heart of Design. The book came out a few months back, so I hope it's OK to be sharing the pages that I have in the book with you now.

The first is another wedding layout, The Promise.

It uses lots of lace, tulle, feathers, beads etc from the actual wedding. I had it left over, sitting in a little plastic bag. Lots of meaning on this page. The journaling is actually my wedding vows :).

The next layout "Old Books" deals with my love of vintage books.

That pile of books is what my mum pulled from her garage one day when I was up at her house. All my "little golden books" from when I was a child. All her little picture books from when she was a child too. Plus, a stack of Enid Blyton books. Drool. I can't wait until Jamie doesn't try to pull apart books, so that we can graduate from board books and I can read some of these to him.

See you!
Kathie

I'm adoring those layouts. Very special.

I recently got my parents to dig up my old books too, and have been having a ball reading the Little Golden books to Diesel. Can't wait to graduate to Enid Blytons - they are my favourites!

Kathie, the books look fantastic, there really is something very special about older books, a real charm that the newer ones just dont have.

Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy seeing more of your creations Kathie. These layouts are beautiful.

I really want to make a layout about the love my daughter has for books. She adores reading and now that she has been at school for a while she has a lot of confidence reading books by herself which is fantastic.

I have many fond memories of reading some of the Enid Blyton books when I was younger. Those stories are the best aren't they!

I hope your coping ok at work and your all healthy once again. Have a great week and take care. Love from Susan (smiles1965) at Scrapboxx

Those beautiful books bought back memories. Mum gave all ours away, sniff sniff. A gorgeous LO and I love those colours, with your favourite apple green. Thanks for the peak at the house layout layout (ha ha).

Great Layouts kathie. I got the book when it first came out....It didn't evn really have time to warm the shelf. I could tell there was 'Heart' in them. Makes me want to scrap a special wedding photo with some wedding memorabilia on it (I have not attempted this yet!!) I too can not wait until my kids are old enough, that I can select an old classic I had when I was a kid and read a chapter every night to them before bed. Special times.
