Two new layouts

I entered a challenge to scrap 20 layouts using my stash. Here's nos. 3 and 4 -

Letting Go
Journaling: Your first slide down the slippery-dip without my help. You took a big breath, let go and down you went. All by yourself. And of course then you had to do it again and again and again smile.gif... And I couldn't help think that it was as much about me letting go as it was about you!

I'm still thinking about running a black marker outline around each of the photos. Or will it ruin it? Indecision. Indecision.

Making Conversation
Journaling:
You have been slow to talk, but in the last month you've started to get the hang of it. This is what you're saying at 23 months: "Me"; "Detty" = dirty; "Woo woo" = woof woof; "mama"; "Bobber!!" = Bob the Builder and any associated paraphenalia; "Dedda" = daddy; "Mi'" = milk; "Bump" (whenever we go over a bump in the car/pram); "Ledda" = ladder.

I love this photo of my Dad and Jamie. This is how Jamie "talks" when he's explaining stuff. I captured it perfectly. Love it when that happens.

The layout's based on Viv Bonders' sketch on SketchesOz blog. I don't think I've ever used such a big photo on a layout. And I quite like how it's turned out. It's good to challenge yourself to do something different every once in a while :)

Thanks for your comments about my post yesterday. I'm totally over it. But those thoughts had been swimming around in my head and I needed to get them out. Did it sound melodramatic? Maybe. Sorry. Even I have my moments.

I have news. I am on the DT for Designing Memories! Katja puts together the best kits - I was a guest designer for her recently - so I am really looking forward to this. And I've never worked with kits before. Should be good!

Hope your weekend has been great so far.
Kathie

I love these layouts, Kathie. Just gorgeous. so bright. Love how Jamie uses his hands to converse - that's cute.

Congratulations on being named a dt for Designing Memories.

Re your previous entry. I'm so glad that you've decided to keep your blog. I would miss hearing about what is happening in your life. Blogs are a wonderful way to stay in touch with others. I've loved watching Jamie grow but understand your decision not to talk about him as much as you have. (Must admit, I'll miss the letters you write to him)

I'm sad to hear that there's a nasty blog around again. I hope it self combusts!!!! The people that criticize would do best if they get on with living their life instead of criticizing others. I love your work and I don't care how often I see it!!! Phoey to them!!!!

Hi Kathie - just popping in to say congrats on the DT position - I am really excited about working with you girls!

And I have read your previous post and I feel like you almost mirrored my feelings about posting photos of my kids on the net. I have also considered watermarking to protect them further as well but maybe I am just not at the point yet where I am totally serious about it. Your fears/concerns are totally valid though. The internet can be a vast unknown.

I went and checked out the Aussie Scrap Smack blog you talked about (first I heard of it) and am a tad shocked and a little disappointed at the content. Who knew the scrapping world could be so....well...nasty?

Loved your layouts by the way! :)

the journalling on that first LO bought tears to my eyes (LOL maybe its also to do with the lack of a decent sleep over the past week!) I so know how you feel...they are just growing up so quickly and its so hard to let go!

As for your last post - gggrrrrrr- you know exactly how I feel about all that CRAP in this industry...ignore it all.

pbCongrats on the Designing Memories DT, well deserved as you are always posting great pages here on your blog and at 2 peas.

When I am cruising 2 peas and find that you have made an interesting comment or posted some thing creative it inspires the click of your link to the blog to see what else you have been doing.

For what ever reason people chose to blog, it should not have to be to the expectations of others. It is sad when a few people have to be negative about another person’s (safe & legal) activities, scrapbooking or blogging or what ever.

Don’t think that the conversations page needs the black border, the eye is drawn instantly to them talking and everything else is just decoration.
