2007 Favourites

Well, I'm just back from a visit to the obstetrician. This morning I made a pact with myself that I would be strong. However, I didn't count on being made to wait for nearly an hour. An hour of watching women in various stages of pregnancy walk back and forwards. An hour of hearing newborn babies crying. An hour of absolute torture for a woman who has just gone through a miscarriage. Oh well. I just had to suck it up and try not to look too distraught. Sigh.

So, I'm back home. Jamie's at my parents and I have about half an hour before I have to leave to go and get him. I have a coffee, a fruit mince tart left from Christmas and my laptop. It's my therapy.

And here's something to cheer me up. I hope you enjoy it: my top 10 pages from 2007. Well, almost. Many of my top 10 are out for publication. These are the ones of those that aren't out. In no particular order:

Roar
Love this little face and that little Tigger suit. And I loved the poem when I first found it:

Be fearless baby boy
fearless enough to run into the cold ocean waves
fearless enough to make your voice heard
fearless because you know love is always with you
Be strong little one
strong enough to stand up for what is right
strong enough not to laugh at others misfortune
strong because you draw strength from the Universe
Be faithful and true in whatever you do
the world is waiting for you

The Treat
Look at that face! I love the colours on this one. This year, I've found myself moving to vibrancy in my layouts and I'm liking it.

Forty2
A page about me. This was for Ngaire Bartlam's "beautiful" theme. It's about the journey I have taken over the last five years, dealing with depression and burn-out.

Too Little
Look at that little possum, with his rucksack. Off to childcare. The journaling on this one is all about how awful it was when he started childcare. He hated it. I cried. It's marginally better now, six months later. But not much. He still cries. On occasion so do I.

Shy
Another one about me. I used to be really really shy. I still am, deep down inside. I have forced myself to not be. It has been necessary, in the careers I've had.

Child's Play
Love the colours on this one, again. This was one of the first layouts I did with Katja's Designing Memories kits. I swear, these kits are the best! I love this design team. I really do count down the days to get my package of goodies each month.

Too Cute
Love that little butt. Jamie only crawled for two months. Then he got up and walked. I have hardly any photos of this phase in his life.

These are the Moments
All about my tranquil spot. This was in our old home, and I'm glad I have recorded the memory

I am Three
Vintage Kathie. Look at those tights saggin' around my knees. LOL.

Peek a Boo
I love that I captured his first attempts at instigating "peek a boo". One of those moments layouts.

There you have it. Good for you if you're still reading!

Have a lovely week.
Kathie

Hi Kathie
I have been reading your blog for sometime now and always love looking at your photos and layouts.....
Sorry to hear about your news, I know how it feels to be sitting in the same situation that you were in and cant believe they make us wait... Maybe they think it is a therapy thing.
Take Care

Hiya Kathie
I also love the vibrant colour in that Treat LO, and the Too Cute one I've printed off your instructions and keep meaning to make those little flowers. You didn't have MY favourite favourite one - which was Lucky Girl with wings.
We start new daycare tomorrow. Wish us luck.

Hi Kathie,
I like all the layouts that you do but my two favourite ones are the birthday boy and the wait layout. I just love how you use bright colours and the occasional strip of paper.
Keep well.
