Back at work

9 January 2009: my desk

And with the back to work bit comes the childcare bit. Jamie's having a hard time going back to childcare and it's just been awful leaving him there when he's so upset and screaming for me. Urgh.

Last night at bedtime we were sitting in his bedroom in the dim light, talking about it. And he says to me:

Jamie: "Jubby don't like childcare".
Me: "Why don't you like childcare?"
Jamie: "I get sad... sometimes... at childcare. I want to be home with mummy and daddy and jak."

Poor little chicken. It quite broke my heart. His little three year old brain reasons that I dump him at childcare then trot home to have fun with the rest of the family? Poor little sausage!

We also talked about his friends at childcare:

Me: "Axel and Noah are your friends."
Jamie (shaking head vigorously): "Boah NOT my fwend."
Me: "Noah's not your friend? Why isn't Noah your friend?"
Jamie: "Boah got big loud boice! Boah not my fwend."

LOL, Axel's mum had warned me that Noah is rough. The dynamics of three-year-old frienships, huh?

Oh, poor little munchkin, and poor you. He really knows how to tug at your heartstrings. Hope he starts enjoying it again soon.
Hugs xx

Hugs to you both. I hope he settles back into the routine soon. It just breaks your heart, when your little one is sad.
