600 posts... and an update

Wow! I have written over 600 posts on this blog. Who would have thought it?
Thanks to those of you who regularly drop in to read and say hi! Comments feed my blogging soul :)

I have done no scrapping that I can show you, unfortunately. In fact, I have done very little scrapping at all over the last month. And it's been wonderful! I needed a break. I had been scrapping nearly every single evening for over twelve months. It's been lovely to do some other things.

Jamie is on the road to recovery, thanks. He was a sick little lad last week. I had never seen him so sick. It wasn't very nice.

On Tuesday he started kindy - just one session a week this term, then two a week next term, and in 2010 he will go for the full four sessions (or maybe only three, seeing as he will still have two full days of childcare every week. I have to think about whether it might all be too much for him. We will play it by ear.)

Speaking of ears ;), on Tuesday afternoon we had a follow up visit to the ENT surgeon, who is very happy with the way Jamie's ears have healed after the grommets were inserted. He was also very excited (as only an ENT specialist could be!) by the fact that Jamie had a very runny nose, but no inflammation or fluid in his ears. LOL.

On Wednesday we had another appointment with Jamie's speech pathologist. She was super happy with his progress. He really has come a long way in the last month. He now uses "h" regularly in conversation. And he can pronounce "f", "s" and "d" at the start of words. He can even manage "f" in simple phrases.

LOL, he can even say "Phil". He runs round the house at teatime shouting out "Phi-il, tea!!" , sounding very much like his mum.

Tomorrow we have a hearing assessment tee-d up. (Yes, our schedule is just one big rotating list of medical appointments at the moment.) We are expecting to see that his hearing is back to within an "normal" range.

All good stuff.

Phil is off to have tea with a mate tonight, so I'm hoping to maybe break out the cardstock and glue. Or else, I might get out the granny rug and curl up on the couch with a good book. I have intentions of watching Rush too. Anyone watch it? I haven't previously. Or maybe it's new? Anyway, I saw the shorts for it on the TV and thought it might be something that I could like. We'll see.

Anyway I'm rambling.

Over and out!
Kathie

Glad things are going well with the ears! Mind if I ask which ENT specialist? I used to work for a few and they can get so excited at the strangest things!
Have a lovely Friday and weekend.

so glad to hear that the hearing and speech is improving. I have a son who visits a speechie as well, so I can relate a bit. And yes! I love Rush. I watched last season as well and it was really good - this season seems to be just as good I think...

Hi Kathie, I'm glad your all getting better and Jamies speech is improving. Ben also had an extra term of kindy because of his speech and he loves it. Did Jamie have a lot of ear infections for them to put grommets in?
I hope you have a good weekend and get to do some scrapping lol.
p.s I like your new blog design.
