Speaking and baking

I haven't posted any photos recently, so here are a couple from a recent baking session. Excuse the flash - ugh - I take almost no photos in Winter, because I'm so averse to using the flash. Hate, hate, hate it. But, it's either use it or not have any photos at all. So I just have to get over it, don't I!

He's growing up so fast. He's had another haircut since these photos were taken and looks even older!

His speech development is amazing at the moment. As each consonant becomes its own sound (rather than the ubiquitous "g" that existed a month or so ago), and slowly becomes incorporated into his language ("h" last fortnight, "f" today), I worry that I will miss all his funny words. Because I really do love some of them, and will miss having them around the house:

“bickly, bickly, bickly” – quickly, quickly quickly!
gamma and gandan” - grandma and granddad
“dain” - train
“daybee” - Jamie
“gamwidch” - sandwich
“orrie” - lolly
“bibbished” - finished
“abooter” - computer
“gub” - love
“dar-bores” - Starwars (this month's total obsession, but that's for another post!)
“bider man” - Spiderman (so "last month" now that Starwars has made an entrance!)
“dabidals” - animals
“boob” - move

Last month "gouse" = house and "gello" = hello were on the list too :(
Next month I suspect that "gamwidch" and "bibbished" will fall victim to proper pronunciation too ;)

I hear you loud and clear on the flash issue!! I hate the way it washes out the face but the background is aways dark as!! I was reading back through your posts and saw that Jaimie has had pnemonia! Glad he is on the mend. I remember when I had Lachlan and Ethan with it at the same time and E had to be hospitalised, so scary.
