Granny's biscuit jarDo you remember me writing in a recent post about my memory of my granny's biscuit jar? It is one of my most significant memories about Granny - going to her house with mum and Sonia, sitting at the kitchen table and having cocoa and biscuits out of the biscuit jar. She kept it above the kitchen counter. It's such a happy memory. Do you remember me lamenting that I wish I had photos?
Well, I now have the biscuit jar!
I took Jamie up to my parents' house this morning and Mum asked me if I wanted it. She had kept it for me from Granny's belongings. I could have cried!
I have some Nook and Pantry papers in the cupboard, and I feel the need to scrap a page about this memory. A memorial page to my Granny, as it were. I think I'll try out a challenge.
Tell me, what's your favourite scrapbooking challenge at the moment? I'll go check it out and use my favourite to inspire me for my new page.

Its gorgeous, and such a special keepsake considering the fond memories you have of it.

So pleased for you Kathy! I was just saying to my husband a while ago that I wish I had something of my Grandma's (she died in 1993) - though I do have a blanket she crocheted for me. And we were talking about it in the context of him not having anything at all from his Nanna and Pa. It would be nice to have something tangible of theirs. I love just a simple little dish that was my great aunt's. I smile and remember her when I use it.
As for challenges - I don't have any. I am currently doing the Blue Bazaar Bootcamp, which is using Becky Fleck's Pagemaps. So they're my starting point!
I am happy to set you a challenge though. ;)
it is a gorgeous bikkie tin!! (and I understand your blergh at the snacks suggested by the naturopath...blergh!!!) recipe challenges are definitely my fave, good starting point but not so constrained...i used to love sketches but now they kind of give me the willies LOL! Have a great Sunday! Tatum xx
This is cookie jar is so warm looking and gorgeous! I too, have similar memories... I visited my Nan today, for her 89th birthday and I love her stuff in her house... some of my best memories come from her home. :)
P.S. Your work is so inspiring! :)
Oh Kathie, bless your Mum for keeping that for you, she must have known how much you would treasure it! You know, my Grandma's old biscuit and cake tins would also be what reminds me most of her. We both must have had the type of Grandma who would always have freshly baked biscuits in the house!
