Dodgems

A while back Jeni O'Connor approached me to contribute a layout for an article she was writing for Scrapbook Creations magazine (issue 81) on fathers. Phil, Jamie and I had just been to the Fringe Festival in Adelaide, where the boys had played on the dodgems and then had a great afternoon at the playground. I had snapped a few shots of them interacting, and this is what I ended up creating on my page:

Journaling: You seek out your Dad more and more these days. You wait impatiently for the weekend, when you know he will be home to play with you. Without a doubt, he is your hero.

I love the look on Jamie's face as he leans in to Phil, both enjoying and a little scared of the ride. It's priceless.

This layout was the start of my ongoing love affair with paint and splattering - I love how it messes up a layout a little bit, and makes it more suitable for a boy who is growing up.

Thanks so much to Jeni for her invitation. I was quite chuffed. And this is one of my favourite pages I made this year :)

OK, I'm off to do the kindy drop off, then I have a date with my running machine. First I have to scrounge up some energy!

Hi kathie...thanks so very much on the products you sent me. It was wonderful to receive something for free, after what feels like an endless shopping spree lately! :o) Many many thanks. I really liked the column for Scrapbook Creations's latest issue.
