Life has been extremely busy here the last couple of weeks. Both Phil and I got approached about taking on new jobs, which meant a flurry of activity creating application documents and attending numerous job interviews. Phil even had to fly to Sydney for one of them.
And, speaking about the man of the house, he has been home on leave all of September and is undertaking a stack of home renovation projects. Yay! We have new carpet, no front fence, a mud patch for a front yard, and various stacks of pipes and wood in the back garden. We also have a new modular sofa on order *huge grin* - I will take photos of the current lounge to show you just how badly we need a new sofa! All of this has involved visits to furniture shops, appliance shops, and much poring over brochures.... and arguing about colours ;).
On Tuesday we have an appointment to view some designs (more designs!) for a new kitchen. You should hear us lately. It's all about laminate colours and benchtop options...
Now Jamie is on school holidays for two weeks, just as my parents have decided to visit my sister interstate for the month.
I am feeling a little overwhelmed, as each of these things adds more tasks into my already full days. Then, on top of that, I am contemplating three days a week work instead of my usual two.
Argh. I need a lie down.
I look at women who seem to spend all day creating and I wonder how they do it? And I have to admit to feeling envious, as my life hurtles along at breakneck speed. Stop, I wanna get off! I'm finding it harder and harder to find the time to be creative at the moment. Lately I've been consumed with writing CVs, poring over home decor magazines, choosing entertainment consoles, and arranging school holiday playdates.
Anyway, this is not a pity me post, but an apology.... I have no creative work to share with you right now. And my inbox is overflowing with sweet comments from all of you. I appreciate the time you take to say hi and interact with me. And, I promise, I will get back to you. Soon! Just bear with me if it takes a bit longer than usual.
Love
Kathie

hey dont worry about your blog, we will still be here. Family and work comes first although make sure you get a little me time.
I hear you Kathie...I am working three days a week and I have no energy/mojo/inclination to scrap and create although I think about layouts and designs all the time.
DH tells me to "just go and scrap" but the guilt of not spending precious family time WITH the family is a hard emotion to overcome.
at his insistence I have booked into two classes in the next 6 weeks (one involves a two day sleepover at my friend's in Brissie) so getting all creative and messy will be happening soon. and I can't wait.
hoping you find that all-elusive balance we all need in our lives....and I'm with Linda....creations or no-creations....your blog is ALWAYS a delight to visit.
take care sweet girl xoxoxox
